The Plummerendium: A Guide to The Night Plummer & The Mockemortician
This book is perhaps best appreciated when you're in no hurry to get anywhere, though it moves along at a reasonable enough clip. Upon arrival, you may find the plot is off somewhere tending to its own affairs. Not to worry, it will amble in when it's ready. In the meantime, there is plenty for you to explore. There are a number of new people to meet, and new words to learn. You'll find a brief list of pertinent personages in the back that you can reference to help keep track of them, along with a glossary and footnotes for those unfamiliar words.
It's quite the ridiculous world you're visiting, with various specimens of wordplay for you to examine. Depending on your sense of humor, you might have some good laughs as you watch comic situations play out. Then there is the Aerêverse, the world of dreams, a place that will seem both familiar and strange as you venture into it.
When the plot comes out in the open, you may come to realize you've caught glimpses before without recognizing it. By this time you will have befriended some of the denizens of this realm and will be curious to see how they interact with the plot, and it with them. Two in particular should be very familiar to you, Agnas and B'Link. These young women, disillusioned with their circumstances and finding nothing ever goes as they hoped, are trying to figure out what to do with their lives, and if there's anything even worth doing. They may come to appreciate the everyday wonders of their world, and perhaps realize their lives aren't so pointless after all.
You are welcome to explore this book in any way that suits you, but if you become lost or confused, this guide might be of some use. When you've finished, perhaps you'll want to visit again sometime, and discover things you missed the first time around. Whether you visit once or many times, the book holds cozy niches where you can tuck away for a while and leave your worries behind. Or, bring them along; maybe they could use a laugh too.
